01

About this notice

This notice covers the Brass Charter website, its free browser tools, and information we receive when you contact us or purchase our products. It explains the current service; it does not describe account features that have not launched.

Brass Charter is operated by Silver Gonzo Studios LLC.

Paid downloads may keep information on your device differently from the free website tools. Read the saving instructions supplied with the product you use. Other websites linked from Brass Charter have their own privacy practices.

02

Information and why it is used

When you visit
Your browser sends technical information, such as an IP address, the page requested and browser information, to the systems delivering the website. This supports page delivery, troubleshooting and security.
When you use a free tool
Answers, figures and files you open are processed in your browser to produce the worksheet or result you request. Using the tool does not automatically send that work to a Brass Charter account.
When you buy
Gumroad collects information needed for checkout, payment and delivery. We can receive purchase records, including your email address, the product, transaction details and a name if provided, to help with access, support, refunds and business records.
When you contact us
We receive the contact details, message and attachments you choose to send. We use them to respond, investigate a problem or handle your request. Send only the information needed for the question.

Reasons for processing personal information

Where data-protection law requires a lawful basis, the proposed bases are fulfilling a purchase or service request, legitimate interests in operating and protecting the service and answering enquiries, and meeting applicable legal obligations. If a particular use requires your consent, that consent must be requested separately and can be withdrawn.

This is a notice about information handling. Reading it is not consent to marketing or optional tracking.

03

Your work and downloaded files

Free-tool work stays in the open browser session unless you keep an editable download. Opening a supported file brings it into the browser so you can continue. Closing or refreshing a page can lose work you have not saved.

You choose where to store downloaded files and whether to share them. A cloud-synced folder, shared computer or email service may make a separate copy under that service’s rules. Deleting a file from your device does not delete purchase or support records held elsewhere.

We cannot retrieve a file that exists only on your device. Before sending a file for help, remove customer, employee or other confidential details that are not needed to explain the issue.

How to keep your work

04

Cookies and browser storage

The current public website does not include embedded advertising or audience-analytics scripts. Its fonts and tool scripts are served with the website. Gumroad’s checkout is a separate service and uses its own cookies and similar technologies.

Browser storage is different from an editable file you download. The website contains storage support for edition preferences and earlier saved work; account-related storage is not active while account saving is unavailable. Your browser’s site-data controls let you review or remove stored website data. Keep needed copies first.

The current public website does not change tool behavior in response to a browser’s Do Not Track signal. It does not currently include cross-site advertising trackers. Any future optional tracking needs a new assessment and appropriate choices before it is introduced.

See Gumroad’s privacy notice for its checkout and platform practices.

05

Services involved

Website hosting
DigitalOcean hosts the website on a server in the United States. The hosting infrastructure handles technical information needed to serve requests. DigitalOcean privacy information.
Checkout and delivery
Gumroad provides checkout, payment and digital delivery. Its systems handle payment information; the Brass Charter website does not contain its own card-entry form. Purchase records available to us support the order and related enquiries. Gumroad privacy information.

Information may also need to be provided to an appropriate authority or professional adviser to meet a legal obligation or resolve a dispute. Any such disclosure should be limited to what is needed for that purpose.

06

How long information is kept

Files you download remain wherever you save them until you remove them. Browser data follows the browser’s settings and any clearing you perform.

For information held by Brass Charter, retention should be limited by the purpose: answering and resolving support requests, administering purchases and refunds, meeting record-keeping obligations, and handling legitimate disputes. Information should be removed or anonymized when no longer needed for those purposes.

Providers may retain their own records under their policies and legal obligations. A deletion request does not necessarily remove transaction records that must be retained by law.

07

Your choices and privacy rights

You can use free tools without creating an account. You control the local files you keep and share, and can use your browser’s settings to manage website data.

Depending on the law that applies and the information involved, you may have rights to:

  • Ask what personal information is held about you and obtain a copy.
  • Correct inaccurate information or request deletion.
  • Object to or restrict particular uses, or receive information in a portable format.
  • Withdraw consent where processing relies on consent.
  • Appeal a request decision or complain to the relevant privacy authority.

Objecting to a use of your information: identify the use you object to and the information involved when you contact us. A request will need to be assessed under the law that applies.

Requests may require proportionate identity checks. Legal retention requirements and other applicable exceptions can affect what can be deleted. Please do not send passwords, payment-card details or identity documents with an initial request.

For information held by Gumroad, its privacy-request guidance explains how to contact the platform. That is separate from a request about information Brass Charter holds.

Privacy contact

08

International visitors

Brass Charter operates from the United States and the website is hosted there. If you use it from another country, technical information and information you send may be processed in the United States or in locations used by the relevant service provider.

The US English content edition does not remove privacy rights that otherwise apply to you. Required notices, transfer safeguards and any representative arrangements depend on the services offered, the data involved and the applicable law.

09

Contact and notice updates

For a privacy question, tell us the website or product involved and the request you would like us to consider. Include only enough information to help identify the relevant record.

Changes to information handling should be reflected in this notice with a revised date. Material changes may require additional notice or a new choice before the changed use begins. Private account saving will need updated information before it launches.
