Using Quote & Scope Builder

How to start, keep, reopen, and use your Quote & Scope Builder work.

Prepare a clear scope and price for a customer to review.

Open Quote & Scope Builder

Start with the work in front of you

  1. Enter the business and customer details, work, line items, and pricing assumptions.
  2. Explain what is included, excluded, expected from the customer, and subject to confirmation.
  3. Review the customer-facing draft. Keep Download reusable draft for editing and a reviewed PDF or text copy for sharing.

Keep it and pick it up again

The JSON draft keeps editable quote details. An Invoice or Delivery import starts a separate reviewed draft from selected information.

  1. Check your browser’s Downloads for the actual file. Keep the .json extension; a meaningful name and date can help you recognize the copy.
  2. Choose Open saved work below, select that file, and check the tool and summary shown.
  3. Continue in the tool. If there is already work open there, review the replacement prompt. Cancel to keep editing or download the current work before replacing it.

What to keep in view

A quote draft is not proof that the customer accepted it. Correct or clarify terms before treating the work as agreed.

If it does not look right

If the file will not open, leave the original unchanged and read the error. A reading copy cannot substitute for the editable JSON. If you reopened an older copy, look for a later download; do not overwrite the current work while checking.

Keep your open draft?

Continuing will discard your unsaved changes. You can return to the draft and save or download it first.
