Using Job Cost & Profit Review

How to start, keep, reopen, and use your Job Cost & Profit Review work.

Understand what a customer job took and what to change in the next quote.

Open Job Cost & Profit Review

Start with the work in front of you

  1. Start with one job, its currency and original offer. Confirm the agreement and keep original and revised plans separate.
  2. Record actual time, costs and job allocations. Keep invoices, credits, receipts and refunds distinct. Review outstanding commitments before forecasting the final result.
  3. Resolve missing rates, unreviewed cost bases and other checks. Keep the completed review, decide what changes next and download the editable JSON.

Keep it and pick it up again

The job review JSON retains jobs, time, costs, shared allocations, value and payment entries, running cost allowances, reviewed sources, lessons, snapshots and history.

  1. Check your browser’s Downloads for the actual file. Keep the .json extension; a meaningful name and date can help you recognize the copy.
  2. Choose Open saved work below, select that file, and check the tool and summary shown.
  3. Continue in the tool. If there is already work open there, review the replacement prompt. Cancel to keep editing or download the current work before replacing it.

What to keep in view

PDFs are internal reading copies with costs and rates. CSV contains the selected table, including private fields. Review selected source files before carrying figures; changed sources require reconciliation. A new Pricing draft uses reviewed grouped assumptions. Owner Overview can read this book.

If it does not look right

If the file will not open, leave the original unchanged and read the error. A reading copy cannot substitute for the editable JSON. If you reopened an older copy, look for a later download; do not overwrite the current work while checking.

Keep your open draft?

Continuing will discard your unsaved changes. You can return to the draft and save or download it first.
