Using Give your idea a next step

How to start, keep, reopen, and use your Give your idea a next step work.

Turn an idea into a small first test.

Open Give your idea a next step

Start with the work in front of you

  1. Describe the idea, who it helps, the problem, and what you need to learn. You can download editable answers before finishing.
  2. Choose a next action, what you will look for, a limit, and a review point. Make your plan when the main answers are ready.
  3. Give the result a plan name and add review notes as you learn. Choose Download editable plan (.json), then use Open saved work when you return.

Keep it and pick it up again

The editable file includes answers and review notes, including unanswered fields in an unfinished worksheet. Completed plans retain their names. Use the central file opener to return without an account; nothing is filled in on your behalf.

  1. Check your browser’s Downloads for the actual file. Keep the .json extension; a meaningful name and date can help you recognize the copy.
  2. Choose Open saved work below, select that file, and check the tool and summary shown.
  3. Continue in the tool. If there is already work open there, review the replacement prompt. Cancel to keep editing or download the current work before replacing it.

What to keep in view

A PDF or text result is useful to read but cannot restore the review notes as editable fields. Download the editable JSON to keep the answers and review notes for next time.

If it does not look right

If the file will not open, leave the original unchanged and read the error. A reading copy cannot substitute for the editable JSON. If you reopened an older copy, look for a later download; do not overwrite the current work while checking.

Keep your open draft?

Continuing will discard your unsaved changes. You can return to the draft and save or download it first.
