Using Stock & Supplies Planner

How to start, keep, reopen, and use your Stock & Supplies Planner work.

Know what is physically present, usable, promised to jobs, and still expected.

Open Stock & Supplies Planner

Start with the work in front of you

  1. Start a blank stock book or choose a labeled fictional example. Add items and locations, then record a checked opening count. Blank quantities mean not counted; enter zero deliberately.
  2. Record receipts, issues, transfers, condition changes, returns, and corrections. Keep job reservations separate from physical stock. Complete counts only after checking movements during the count.
  3. Review needs attention and replenishment assumptions. Save editable stock book (.json) to reopen everything. Choose PDF reading copies, blank count sheets, or the movement CSV for other uses.

Keep it and pick it up again

The editable JSON preserves items, quantities, movements, counts, reservations, expected supplies, source references, and review history. PDFs and CSV are separate reading or table copies.

  1. Check your browser’s Downloads for the actual file. Keep the .json extension; a meaningful name and date can help you recognize the copy.
  2. Choose Open saved work below, select that file, and check the tool and summary shown.
  3. Continue in the tool. If there is already work open there, review the replacement prompt. Cancel to keep editing or download the current work before replacing it.

What to keep in view

Purchasing imports require an explicit item and unit mapping and a check for goods already counted or used. Repeated source lines are blocked; changed sources need reconciliation. Job readiness is reviewed manually. Checklist exports start unchecked, routines start as drafts, and Owner Overview reads a selected file copy. Files do not synchronize.

If it does not look right

If the file will not open, leave the original unchanged and read the error. A reading copy cannot substitute for the editable JSON. If you reopened an older copy, look for a later download; do not overwrite the current work while checking.

Keep your open draft?

Continuing will discard your unsaved changes. You can return to the draft and save or download it first.
