Help / A useful way forward

Using Checklist Builder

How to start, keep, reopen, and use your Checklist Builder work.

Build repeatable steps and keep the progress of a particular run.

Open Checklist Builder

Start with the work in front of you

  1. Start a blank checklist or deliberately choose an example. Name the work and what finished means.
  2. Add the groups and steps the work needs, with instructions and completion checks. Move them into a useful order.
  3. Use the checklist, then choose Download reusable copy. Keep a separate dated copy if you want a record of this run before resetting checks.

Keep it and pick it up again

The reusable JSON copy keeps groups, instructions, and checked states. Open it here to continue that copy.

  1. Check your browser’s Downloads for the actual file. Keep the .json extension; a meaningful name and date can help you recognize the copy.
  2. Choose Open saved work below, select that file, and check the tool and summary shown.
  3. Continue in the tool. If there is already work open there, review the replacement prompt. Cancel to keep editing or download the current work before replacing it.
Check and reopen a file

What to keep in view

Bringing a checklist into Delivery, Renewals, or Routines creates fresh steps. Previous ticks do not prove the new work has been completed.

If it does not look right

If the file will not open, leave the original unchanged and read the error. A reading copy cannot substitute for the editable JSON. If you reopened an older copy, look for a later download; do not overwrite the current work while checking.

Keep your open draft?

Continuing will discard your unsaved changes. You can return to the draft and save or download it first.
