Using Closing Plan
Know what is saved, what is shared and what remains open.
Start where you are
Choose considering, preparing or already stopped. The same plan works throughout. Dates and answers can remain unknown. Update your situation as it changes; existing notes stay with the task.
Work on the next useful action
Next actions shows active work and things needing an answer. Work areas contains all eight groups, including items currently set aside. Dates lists dated work and keeps missing dates visible.
Edit a task to add its responsible person, next action, date, question and supporting record location. You can add separate tasks for individual customers, agreements, agencies or assets. Dependencies explain what must be resolved first.
Record action and confirmation separately
Sent or submitted does not mean accepted. Tasks needing confirmation cannot be marked done without a recorded confirmation and actual date. You can reopen any task. The history retains earlier changes. “Done” is your recorded status, not an official certification of business closure.
Keep your working file
Download editable plan saves a JSON working file. Open a saved plan restores it. You can also explicitly save one plan in this browser. Clearing browser data, changing devices or using another site address can remove access to that browser copy. Download a file for portability. The tool does not silently upload your entries or send reminders.
Opening a file is checked before current work changes. If a file is invalid or from an unsupported newer edition, keep it intact and keep your existing plan. Save a copy of current work before replacing it.
Choose what to share
Keep & share produces action, timeline, advisor and after-closing reading copies. Select tasks and choose whether to include private notes or document locations. Preview before downloading or printing. Print opens your browser’s print options, where you can choose Save as PDF.
Questions & help prepares selected information for Help Brief. Review it first. The destination asks before replacing an existing brief; nothing is sent to an outside person.
Use dates carefully
A target date is a plan, a contractual date comes from an agreement, and a verified filing date comes from the relevant instructions. A change to your last trading date flags dated work for review; it does not move those dates automatically.
Bring in the right help
Use People & guidance / Moving on to understand the kind of help you need. Keep a question visible when authority, money, requirements or a commitment remains unclear.
For tool problems, contact Brass Charter. Describe the screen and issue; do not send passwords, account numbers or private employee records.
