Using Cost & Pricing Explorer

How to start, keep, reopen, and use your Cost & Pricing Explorer work.

Understand the costs, effort, and assumptions behind a price.

Open Cost & Pricing Explorer

Start with the work in front of you

  1. Define one offering and its unit. Enter the costs, time, fees, and price assumptions you know.
  2. Review the results and what is excluded. Add an alternative only when you want to compare a specific change.
  3. Check monthly cost coverage and available hours. Record questions and Download reusable copy.

Keep it and pick it up again

The editable exploration keeps the base and any alternative. Reopen it to change assumptions and recalculate.

  1. Check your browser’s Downloads for the actual file. Keep the .json extension; a meaningful name and date can help you recognize the copy.
  2. Choose Open saved work below, select that file, and check the tool and summary shown.
  3. Continue in the tool. If there is already work open there, review the replacement prompt. Cancel to keep editing or download the current work before replacing it.

What to keep in view

Blank and zero are different. A result based on entered costs cannot confirm that you included every cost, tax, or hour. This is planning, not a market-price guarantee.

If it does not look right

If the file will not open, leave the original unchanged and read the error. A reading copy cannot substitute for the editable JSON. If you reopened an older copy, look for a later download; do not overwrite the current work while checking.

Keep your open draft?

Continuing will discard your unsaved changes. You can return to the draft and save or download it first.
